Family Coach Intern (Paid Internship)

About The MOMentum Network
The MOMentum Network is a faith-based nonprofit in Chattanooga, TN, dedicated to empowering pregnant and parenting students to overcome barriers and succeed in school, career, and life. We believe in rewriting stories—turning unexpected challenges like unplanned pregnancies into powerful testimonies of hope, purpose, and redemption.
Since 2014, we’ve offered a two-generation model of support through housing, mentorship, childcare assistance, life skills development, community and optional Christ-centered guidance to those who would like to grow spiritually.
Position Summary
The Family Coach Intern will gain hands-on experience providing transformational, faith-informed support to single mother college students. Through this role, you’ll walk alongside young moms as they pursue their goals in education and family life, helping them overcome barriers and thrive spiritually, emotionally, and professionally.
This internship is ideal for recent graduates or advanced students in social work, counseling, education, or ministry-related fields or those with other relevant personal experience who are interested in growing as a coach, advocate, and change-maker. Outstanding interns may be considered for long-term employment following successful completion of the internship, depending on organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Faith-informed Coaching & Support
- Provide relational, non-judgmental support to pregnant and single parenting students navigating college and parenthood.
- Assist in developing individualized goal plans related to education, employment, housing, parenting, and spiritual growth.
- Walk alongside moms with encouragement and accountability as they pursue self-sufficiency and healing.
- Support moms in connecting with resources, managing crises, and building life skills.
Two Generation Support

Support The MOMentum Network’s two-generation mission by actively contributing to a nurturing environment for both moms and their children.

Be willing to assist in the on-site childcare center, Little Scholars, during emergencies or times of increased need.
Program Facilitation & Group Engagement
- Help facilitate workshops, small groups, or life skills sessions that align with The Momentum Network’s mission and curriculum.
- Encourage peer-to-peer support among participants through community-building activities.
- Support participants and provide feedback to shape and execute seasonal events, family nights, and celebrations (such as GATHER and graduations).
Operations & Documentation
- Maintain confidential and organized records of participant goals, progress, and key interactions.
- Support tracking of program data and outcomes to ensure quality and consistency in service delivery.
- Collaborate with the Program Team to evaluate progress and identify areas for growth.
Qualifications
- A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to live out your faith in service to others, with ability to respect those who do not ascribe to the Christian faith.
- Completion of a bachelor’s or graduate program.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- A heart for walking alongside pregnant and single moms to help them achieve results related to goal-setting and resource management.
- Reliable, adaptable, and eager to learn with the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
- Willingness to work some evenings and attend community events.
- Proficiency in Google Suite; experience with case management systems is a plus.

This internship offers hands-on experience working with children and their student parent families in a faith-rooted, mission-driven nonprofit that supports single moms pursuing college degrees.

Internship Details

Ideal Candidates Are:

Primary Responsibilities

Supervise and actively engage children (primarily ages 6 weeks to 5 years) at Little Scholars

Assist teachers with activities that promote children’s development — social, emotional, cognitive, and physical

Help organize play-based, trauma-informed learning environments

Support moms during programming by providing reliable, nurturing child care

Attend Momentum events and outings, serving as an extra set of hands and a friendly face

Position Title: Development Intern

Position Summary:
We are seeking an outgoing, proactive and mission-driven Development Intern to support our fundraising and donor engagement initiatives. This role is perfect for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development, communications, and grant strategy. The intern will help drive our mission forward by researching funding opportunities, preparing proposals, and supporting donor communications.
Key Responsibilities:

Program Assistant Intern

About The Momentum Network
The Momentum Network is a two-generation support community for single mothers pursuing a college degree. We empower women to continue their education while receiving access to housing, childcare, career development, and wraparound services that lead to long-term success for their families.
Position Summary
The Program Assistant Intern will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Momentum’s student and family support programming. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or a college senior earning a Bachelor's degree by May 2026 who is interested in nonprofit work, social services, or educational equity. The intern will support intake, outreach, care coordination, and facilitation of family-focused meetings and events. The intern should be comfortable working with both student parents and their children in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with eligibility and enrollment of new program participants, including application tracking and document collection
- Support outreach efforts through campus engagement, follow-up communications, and relationship-building with community partners
- Help coordinate resources and referrals for participants in collaboration with program staff
- Participate in and assist with family-friendly program meetings, workshops, and events (some evening hours required)
- Engage warmly and professionally with student parents and their children
- Perform light office duties including reception coverage, basic research, and preparation of program materials
- Maintain accurate records and support documentation in internal systems
- Provide general support to the Program Team and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be a recent graduate or current senior earning a Bachelor’s degree by May 2026
- Prior experience in client services, customer service, education, childcare, or related roles strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills, empathy, and a team-oriented mindset
- Comfortable working with both adult participants and young children
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Willingness to work in-person in Chattanooga, TN, with some evening availability

Little Scholars - Night Owl Children's Program
Intern position available
- 4-6 hours week, ideally having capacity to add another night of care (or share duties)

- You're at least 18
- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or HiSet equivalent
- Pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and experience working in childcare is a plus.
Kids program assistant plans for & works meeting nights at The MOMentum Network. You care for the kids by guiding a team of volunteers, under the leadership of the Kids program manager. Meeting nights are currently Thursday nights 4:30-8:30pm.
- Duties Include:
- Oversees volunteer teachers in a class
- Helps with volunteer paperwork
- Meal prep & planning
- Set up signs & possibly help engagement intern with other tasks
- Fill in for managing teacher when needed, including curriculum planning &/or teaching*
- In charge of cleaning up after meeting
- Recruiting other kids team members
- Notes growth and opportunities with kiddos.
- Works with PM to complete kids sheets
- Other duties as assigned/needed.
*As a faith-based program, we offer Christian activities at least once a month. Must be comfortable planning and leading lessons teaching kids about Jesus Christ in alignment with TMN beliefs.

Position Summary
The Nonprofit Operations Intern plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in supporting the day-to-day functions of The Momentum Network. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this intern will assist with administrative tasks, help maintain organized and welcoming facilities, manage office and event logistics, and serve as a friendly point of contact for guests and community members. This internship offers the opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in nonprofit administration, facilities support, and mission-centered operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests and community members in a professional, friendly manner
- Answer and route phone calls and emails, ensuring timely and respectful communication
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting office and shared space environment
- Assist with managing calendars, meeting scheduling, and room reservations
- Provide general administrative support: data entry, filing, document preparation, mailings
- Help coordinate volunteer check-ins and support event logistics (set-up, clean-up, materials)
- Monitor and restock office and event supplies; report facility needs
- Assist with recordkeeping related to inventory, expenses, and facilities
- Support staff with research, special projects, and internal communication as needed
- Uphold confidentiality and represent the organization with professionalism at all times
Qualifications
- Current college student or recent graduate (Business, Nonprofit Management, Public Admin, or related field preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a helpful, positive attitude
- Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Comfortable using Google Suite or Microsoft Office; willing to learn basic office systems
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with room or event setups
