How does the Scholar Village program work?

Single parent, do you dream of building a life that’s beyond survival mode?

Do you worry about having the funds to make sure that your child(ren) have what they need? Do you wish that you had help or friends who “get you” and lifted you up? Are you exhausted from working long hours and missing precious moments with your kids? Are you ready to do something differently? Do you lack the degree or certification you need to secure a living wage career that more than covers your costs of living? If so, we want to help!

The MOMentum Network (TMN) is an network of mentors, career connectors, community partners, single parent peers and supportive students who want to be a part of your success. Whether you’ve faced an unplanned pregnancy in college or the loss of a supportive partner without completing your coursework, we know that it can feel overwhelming to try to reach your goals on your own while raising a child on your own. We were founded by a former single mom in college & other moms who’ve made it and want you to see what you can achieve.

We are here to connect you to the resources and relationships you need to succeed. Scholar Village is our newest program that provides an actual “village” of apartments combined with community supports to help single parents complete college leading towards a living wage career.

While costs vary based on participant income, the average qualified participant can live in your own newly renovated, two-bedroom apartment close to campus and other student parents and supportive services for around $300/month* thanks to our partnership with collaborative organizations and generous supporters that are invested in your success. Childcare will also be offered onsite.

The Scholar Village program will launch August 1, 2020. Participants enroll for one year and may be eligible to renew until graduation from college.
Applications will be open until all six initial spots are filled. Prospective participants can learn more & apply HERE.

While some members worry about having enough time to participate while juggling work, school and family-life, we can help you create a strategy to maximize your time and resources so that you have more time to invest in your education & family while still covering your costs. There is no commitment to explore eligibility. Just indicate interest online & we’ll schedule a call to answer any questions you might have. You do not have to be enrolled in college before applying, but you do have to be admitted to an eligible college prior to acceptance.

While The MOMentum Network is a ministry founded by Christians called to love our neighbors because we believe all good gifts come from Heaven above, we have been honored to provide support to single parents & their children regardless of religious affiliation since 2014. It’s been our great joy to help over 30 single mom graduates and their children as they shatter statistics. It takes a village & we hope you’ll consider being a part of ours!

If you’re reading this and would like to volunteer, you can complete this form to let us know you’re interested in serving and we’ll add you to our newsletter to make sure you know about upcoming opportunities.
